The course is designed to prepare students for coastal cruising. The course is conducted on larger keelboats ranging from 30' to 40’ in length, and students are expected to be able to safely operate the vessel in near coastal waters during daylight hours. Our standard format for ASA 103 is a total of 3-4 days, with 1 day or 2 evenings in a classroom setting and 2. Private or semi-private lesson formats may vary slightly, but our standard format is only 2 students per boat to ensure maximum learning outcomes. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive the ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising Certification, which demonstrates their ability to safely skipper a cruising sailboat in coastal waters.
ASA 101; Basic Keel-boat Sailing Certification (or equivalent) The sailing student must demonstrate their skills and knowledge in two ways, with a practical exam (on-the-water skills assessment) with a certified ASA instructor and completing the multiple-choice, 100-question written examination with a score of at least 80.

All prices are for on the water private lessons, to make sure not crowd the boat.
