COURSE FORMAT AND PRICING

All of our courses are done in a combination of classroom instruction and/or on the water training. The cost of each course varies depending on the level of certification and the length of he course. Please visit the course that intrests you to see pncing options.

COMPREHENSIVE SAILING COURSES: FROM BASIC KEELBOAT TO ADVANCED OCEAN SAILING

Our sailing curriculum is designed to develop competent sailors. We strongly believe in developing fundamental sailing skills prior to progressing to intermediate & advanced certifications, To ensure unsurpassed instruction we are a comprehensive ASA Certification facility Our Basic Sailing courses are taught on Lake Lewisville. After completing the Basic Keelboat Sailing Certification course you will want to practice before moving on to the next level of certification, our J-24’s are available to our graduates for lease or rent. The next certification level (Basic Coastal Cruising) is also taught on Lake Lewisville. We use a 29.5 foot Cruising Sailboat. Refresher courses are available for those sailors with exoerience but wantina a little brush-uo on their skill.  If you already have significant sailing experience, you may be eligible to challenge select ASA certifications. This process involves a written exam and an on-water evaluation to demonstrate your proficiency.

CERTIFICATION LEVELS AT A GLANCE

A quick overview of our sailing courses and the levels of certification that we offer. From our Basic Sailing course on Lake Lewisville to our Bareboat and Advanced Sailing courses, this section highlights the skills and knowledge that you can gain at each level Of certification.

ASA 101 – Basic Keelboat Sailing

Learn the fundamentals of sailing aboard a keelboat. This entry-level course teaches how to sail safely and confidently in light to moderate wind and sea conditions. Upon certification, students will be able to skipper a day-sailing boat in familiar waters.

ASA 102 – Keelboat 2 (Optional)

This skills-building course is designed to strengthen your sailing foundation. It focuses on sail trim, maneuvering, docking under power, crew coordination, and safety. ASA 102 bridges the gap between 101 and 103 for those wanting extra hands-on experience.

ASA 103 – Basic Coastal Cruising

Build on your ASA 101 skills to learn how to cruise a sailboat in coastal waters. Topics include boat systems, anchoring, docking, and navigation. Graduates are qualified to skipper a cruising sailboat in moderate conditions during daylight hours.

ASA 104 – Bareboat Cruising

Prepare to charter or skipper a cruising sailboat for multi-day trips. This course includes advanced seamanship, provisioning, weather analysis, anchoring techniques, and emergency procedures. It is the standard for bareboat charter certification worldwide.

ASA 105 – Coastal Navigation

Master traditional and electronic navigation techniques for coastal cruising. This land-based course teaches chart plotting, course planning, tide and current calculations, and the use of GPS/chart plotters.

ASA 106 – Advanced Coastal Cruising

Learn to skipper a cruising sailboat day and night, on longer coastal passages, and in challenging conditions. This course includes advanced navigation, heavy weather sailing, night sailing, and operating in unfamiliar waters.

ASA 114 – Cruising Catamaran

Specialized training for operating cruising catamarans. You’ll learn how to handle multi-hull vessels, including docking, maneuvering, sail trim, and systems management. Ideal for sailors planning to charter or cruise catamarans.
